Grammy and Will are very excited for Christmas Eve!!! Will sees Santa and says, "HOHOHO!"

Will is fascinated with any stuffed animal that sings or makes noise. He now assumes every stuffed animal should sing to him. He will squeeze their hands/paws, then squeezes their feet/paws...... if nothing happens, he moves on. This must be the end product of a 21st century kid.

Santa Visits Will Again!

Santa visited Will in Knoxville the weekend prior the Christmas. He knew we would travel home to Virginia and did not want to miss Will. Will woke from his nap and he found a Cars activity tent, a toolbox, a tractor, books, and blocks. Will was excited to unwrap his goodies. He would unwrap a gift and take a sip of milk...all that hard work makes a fella thirsty. We played in the tent and hid from one another. It was a fun and quiet Sunday afternoon.

Christmas Express

One very cold Saturday afternoon in December, we rode the Christmas Express. The Christmas Express is an eleven mile train ride on the Three Rivers Rambler in Knoxville. The train ride began in downtown Knoxville and traveled along the Tennessee and Holston Rivers. We drank hot cider and snacked on Will's favorite treat, Goldfish, while Christmas stories were read aloud. Will liked meeting the conductor and train staff but DID NOT enjoy Santa Claus. He crawled up my arm and began to tremble in terror. He has since seen Santa Claus on several occasions and is warming up to the fella. Will points and waves, then says "HO-HO-HO." Ros continues to remind Will how important it is to be nice to Santa Claus.

Will is going from row to row meeting other riders. He loved hearing the Christmas stories and ringing the jingle bells.

We spent Thanksgiving weekend in Virginia. We ate and ate and ate. It was definitely good family time. Will enjoyed playing with his cousins and second cousins. At the beginning of each big family meal, he was somewhat quiet and shy. As the weekend went by, Will let loose and was into everything. Of course, the grandparents let him touch anything he could find...that's their job, right?

Will is standing on Great-Aunt Libby's stool. He is so proud of himself because he knows he is supposed to be sitting NOT standing. He is keeping his mother on her toes!!

On October 24th, the Kingery family celebrated Great Papa's 90th birthday. We had a amazing lunch at Papa and Grandma's house. It was a clear, crisp fall day with vibrant changes in leaves. Papa was busy holding and entertaining his FIVE great-grandchildren. It was a bit of a challenge to get all of little ones to remain still while we took a few pictures.

We have so enjoyed our fall 2009 but it sure has flown by. Will is growing taller and talking all the time. Everyday, he is showing the world more and more of his little personality. He continues to point at everything and growls at stuffed animals as if he were a bear. Otherwise, in Will's world, all objects move by making car noises. He likes to blink/wink at you when you tell him no or he begins to smack his lips to blow kisses. Both of these actions make us laugh hard and he thinks he is the funniest little dude in the world.

Will, Grammy, and Mommy visited the Knoxville Zoo. Will loved pointing to the animals. He was fascinated by the elephants, zebras, and lions. He stared at the birds and clapped when they flew by. It was a fun way to spend the afternoon, especially since the football game wasn't enjoyable to watch (UT lost to UCLA).

It is so hard to believe that Will is a one-year-old little boy. We celebrated his birthday in Virginia at G-Daddy and Grammy's house. Will was surrounded by grandparents, family, and friends. We had a great time this year at the beach with the family. This year was bigger and better thanks to the newest additions - Will (11 months), Ethan (5 months), and Grayson (2 months). Our house was full of diapers, car seats, and toys. Will taught Ethan and Grayson to be professional beach bums. We enjoyed family time and, of course, the sun. Unfortunately, Will repeatedly enjoyed the sand as well - he ate the sand over and over. Needless to say, we spent lots of time at the pool.

10/11-Month-Old Will

We sure are behind!!!!!! Ros and I have not stopped to turn on our computer in months. Our family has had a super fun summer. We have taken Will boating on the lake, to the zoo, to Dollywood (several times), home to Virginia, to the beach, and so on......to say the least, our weekends have been full. Will is one step (literally) from walking and is in the middle of everything. He is finally eating and enjoying table food like the rest of us. Now for sleeping...that is another story!! He says "mama" and "dada" and thanks to his father makes car noises for anything that moves. He loves to redecorate by removing all items from shelves and drawers. He is such a little cuddler..he likes to hug and hold on very tight. I hope this continues for the next thirty years or more. Will points his index finger at EVERYTHING which is soooooo funny. He is very serious when he points at you. I absolutely can't believe Will turns one in three weeks. This has been an unbelievably year which keeps getting better. Will is getting so big!!!

Although belated (Will is 10 months-old next week), Will at 9 months-old is always on-the-go. He is crawling around like crazy and pulling up on furniture. He graduated the infant room and moved into the crawler room. He adjusted beautifully with the big kids. Will is slowly eating more table food and is the proud owner of two bottom teeth. He is talking and moving constantly. This month, Will visited the zoo for the first time, went to the pool and went boating on Ft. Loudon Lake/Tennessee River. He is a busy fella these days.

On May 3, 2009, Will was baptized at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Snow Creek, Virginia. It was a special day surrounded by both families and friends. Although somewhat vocal at times, Will did great and stayed awake for the church service. He later crashed for a power nap during lunch. Ros and I had a great time sharing his baptism with both families.

Will is really excited to be moving....yes, Will is now crawling. It started as a military crawl on the elbows but has evolved to a more confident hands and knees movement. Will is literally into everything. We began "childproofing" our home this weekend. Of course, Ros and I can hardly open our cabinets now as well. Will is also chewing on everything. He has two bottom teeth and is very proud of them. He flashes his jack o' lantern smile all the time. He finally decided to eat some baby food but it is always on his terms. I hope this just means he is a boy who knows what he wants not a stubborn one. Ha-Ha We are definitely enjoying this phase of Will's World.

Will's First Easter was a lovely day. It was a warm, sunny spring day spent with family. We celebrated Great-Grandma English's 85th birthday. Will got a chance to see his new cousin Ethan again as well as grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. The Easter Bunny came to see Will several times. He must be a really good boy (or spoiled gotten).

Will is seven months old and growing like a weed. He is sitting up well and, finally, decided to eat a bite or two of baby food. Will also decided to sleep more through the night which makes mommy and daddy much happier. Will says "mamamama" and "bababababa" which Ros and I think is genius. Will gets so excited to grab EVERYTHING off the table and we have officially started moving all silverware back 12 inches.

In March, Ros, Will, and I traveled south to Fort Myers, Florida to visit Papa and Catherine. Will flew for the first time and was quite a character. He smiled and laughed at the other passengers and attendants. We arrived in Florida to find eighty degree weather and sunshine. We enjoyed the change and, of course, Catherine's cooking.

Wow, time flies by!! Will is already 6 months old. For those who have not seen him lately, he has changed so much. At his 6 month check-up, he weighed 20 lbs and was 27 inches long. Will is very vocal and loves to hear himself talk. Will loves to wake mom and dad up in the early hours of morning. In the pictures below, he is proud to pose in his new blue jeans while sitting up alone.

Will is a thriving five-month-old! He is making friends at daycare and getting comfortable with our new routine. He has tasted rice cereal this month and is not too impressed. Will continues to reveal his cute personality wrapping us tighter around his not-so-little finger. He is rolling over with ease and is fascinated with his hands. Will sits in amazement staring at each hand. Ros and I laugh at his new expressions and growing interest in his surroundings.

Gatlinburg Weekend 01/2009

Will visits Gatlinburg during one of the biggest cold fronts this winter season. Even though it is a balmy eight degrees outside, Will is all smiles.

Hard to believe...Will is four months old. He survived another round of shots and continues to grow and grow. He weighed 18 pounds and 13 ounces at his check-up and was 26 inches long. Will laughs and is talking more and more. He will babble then laugh at what he has just said. He has seen snow this January and enjoyed his first month of day care.

2008 proved to be an amazing year. Ros and I can't believe how blessed we have been to have such healthy, happy baby. Will is growing so quickly and changing weekly. We are so entertained by our little miracle. Will has showed us both how to enjoy each moment of the day. Our hearts are warmed by his smile and his laugh. So far, 2009 is full of smiles, babbling, and cooing. Will is so close to rolling over and enjoys sitting up to look around. He loves all toys that light up and make noise, which is great for mommy and daddy's sanity.

Will had a huge Christmas in Virginia. He was greeted by grandparents and family with lots of hugs and kisses. As the first grandchild, needless to say, he is spoiled rotten. Thankfully, Santa came a week early to visit Will. He must have known we were headed to Virginia for Christmas. Santa gave Will his very own UT rocking chair, which is every little boy's Christmas wish. Will also got some books, clothes, sock monkey, and a drum that lights up when you play it. We took Will to Nashville for the weekend to meet some friends. It was his first time in Nashville...he is such the little traveler. We met our good college friends, Allie and Mike, for a little Christmas shopping and some catching up. We also got to visit more college friends, Paul and Kelly, and meet their son Luke. Will had a great time seeing the beautiful lights at the Opryland hotel and watching all the people walk in the mall.

We decided to spend the week of Thanksgiving at home in Virginia. It was a wonderful opportunity to spend more time with family prior to the busy holiday weekend. Two Months Old

Hard to believe, Will is nine weeks old. Time is flying by...that is what everyone said would happen. Will was 14 lbs 10 ounces and 24 inches long at his two month appt last Friday. He is ....a healthy growing fellow. He is laughing and cooing more and more each day. He makes us laugh everyday. He is wearing his "life is good" outfit today. It is fitting for our happy, healthy little man.

Ros is feeding Will a bottle for the first time. He took it like a champ and Ros is a professional himself. Now, the whole family is taking part in Will's meals.

Will's first wedding was in Charleston, South Carolina. Nicole Fizzano (great long-time friend of Catherine's) and Michael Westman tied the knot. The wedding was great fun and so beautiful. It was our warmest and prettiest day of the week which made for a pleasant drive to Charleston.

We took Will to the beach for the first time at eight weeks old. Since the weather in October is not exactly optimal for sunbathing, we chose the indoor pool for his first swim. He and Ros had a great time taking a dip. Although slightly confused at first, Will loved the water.

On October 17th, we traveled home to introduce Will to the rest of our family and friends. It was a beautiful fall weekend in Virginia. Will loved seeing his grandparents again and meeting his great-grandparents for the first time. Everyone had cameras ready for the big event. The great-grandparents did not mind at all to hold and love on Will. We think he was the life of the party!!

One Month Old

Last week, Will went for his one month checkup. He weighed 12 lbs and was 22 3/4 inches long. He is definitely growing!!! He continues to hold his head up and enjoys tummy time more and more. Ros and I can't believe he is already so old and so big...he changes every day. We are loving every moment. Next week, Will gets to meet his great-grandparents and more family at Ros' 30th birthday party in Virginia. Will is so excited....it is all he can grunt about.

Just Hangin' Out

We have had so much fun playing with Will. Our Saturday night is spent watching college football and snoozing.Will is starting to follow our voices and enjoys watching the lights. He is so strong.....he is already trying to hold his head up.

Lazy Days

During the last two weeks, our new family has really enjoyed a slower pace. We have had great family visits with Grandma and Grandpa Kingery as well as aunt Marcie, uncle Justin, aunt Julie, and aunt Lettitia. Will is definitely our entertainment. We are grateful and blessed to have him. Our lazy days of September have flown by ....it is hard to believe Will will be a month old this week.

To celebrate Will's one week birthday, Ros and I went for a walk at the park. After finding a shade tree, we sang Happy Birthday to Will once more. This was our first experience using a stroller.

Our First Family Outing

Today was Catherine's birthday and Grammy Haynes wanted to make the day special. I went to work and Catherine, Will and Grammy ran some errands around town. When I got home from work this afternoon, we loaded the family up and went to Wal-Mart, Walgreens and Aubrey's for dinner. I stayed in the car with Will most of the time and he was wonderful, aside from the occasional exhaust fumes (for those wondering, they were from Will and not the car). During dinner, Will slept most of the time and did not acknowledge the attention that he was given.

Will got his first bath at home tonight. It was a team effort between Grammy Carolyn, Catherine and I. Grammy had the good idea of heating up the bathroom before he took his bath in hopes of him being much calmer. He definately makes us very aware of the fact that he does not like being cold. It worked....... however, I was about to roast while making this video clip.

Trip to the Pediatrician

Well, we survived the first night at home. Ros successfully snored his way through several messy diapers and three feedings. We took Will to meet Dr. Shults, his new least favorite person. He was not impressed with his examination but is doing great!!! Will weighed 8lbs and was measured to be 21 inches long. Dr. Shults gave him a sticker for good behavior. Already an over-achiever!!!!

Home from the Hospital

We brought Will home on Sunday afternoon, September 7, 2008. We introduced him to his room and he loved it. We were so excited our families were able to come meet the newest edition. Will is posing below for his hospital pictures.

Will is about to get into the car for the first time. We will give him a tour of Knoxville after he sees his home and room. Ros and I are very glad to be leaving the hospital. After all, it isn't the Hilton (that is what Ros told the doctor after a night on the pull-out bed)!!!

As soon as we arrived home, Will decided to give us a present in his diaper, so we changed him into something more comfortable. His shirt says "COOL Just Like Daddy." I wonder who chose this outfit???

William (Will) Roswell Kingery IV was born today, September 5, 2008 at 2.31pm at St. Mary's Hospital in Knoxville. He weighed 8 lbs - 12 oz and is 20.5 inches long.

Catherine and I are both getting very excited about our new addition to the Kingery clan. Catherine is 38 weeks and feeling great. The summer has flown by, the nursery is ready and it's hard to believe that he's almost here...........Thanks again for the wonderful baby gifts that you all have given us this summer. We are so blessed to have such great family and friends.
